In my opinion this is critical to adding realism in survival mode.Īmmo factories and med producing companies have been non existent for 200 years.
This mod allows you to add custom multipliers for your damage and for enemy damage (for example, I deal 2.5x damage, and any enemies deal 3x damage). Once I got used to it I felt still way overpowered and like ym enemies were just bullet sponges. I was expecting survival mode to be a lot more difficult than it really was. Campsite is the same, except it allows you to place sleeping bags, tents and other really useful camping supplies.
Mobile Mechanic allows you to craft supplies that let you perform any of the workbench functions (scrap, armor, weapons, etc) on the go with a placeable portable workbench. These mods are both by the same author and are something that I think should have been included in vanilla, and they're even more important in survival. This adds a nice alternative to fast travel no fast travel in my opinion. I like the idea of no fast travel, but sometimes it makes junk runs impossible with how far you have to walk to get to your favorite settlement to scrap your junk.
JOURNEY - Survival Settlement Fast Travel: This mod is also really useful because of an optional file that enables saving, which for me is a must for survival mode. This mod is really useful because sometimes thigns just get messed up and you need to deactivate and reactivate survival mode to get things working again. Unlimited Survival Activations (And save enabler): Here are some of my favorite mods I've found for making survival actually feel like survival. After survival mode actually got released though, I liked what they had done, but it needed to be expanded and improved in many ways for me. KEEP READING: Video Game Remake Vs.I've always through (like I'm sure any fan of survival games surely has) that Fallout 4 has had a lto of potential to be a great survival game. Being able to sneak into bed for a save is also helpful. Being able to maneuver around enemies and stop them from getting the upper-hand on you will save your life. You can scrap for more components, which means more mods for armor and weapons, plus defenses for your settlements.Ĭhemist might seem less useful than other skills, but it allows you to make Antibiotics, which'll keep you alive longer. Finally, Sneak is very useful in Survival Mode. Scrapper can help with all those extra weapons and armor you'll find.
This allows you to create supply lines between settlements, linking resources and inventories between two settlements. Since settlements are more important, Local Leader is even more useful. It also means you won't need to carry as much Rad-Away or Rad-X in your inventory, leaving space for other important items. Rad Resistant or Aquaboy/girl will reduce those rads you take from eating and drinking, something you'll be doing often regardless of healing. It also means you can carry more bullets if that's your weapon of choice. Strongback will allow you to carry more, which means having more food, drinks and healing items on-hand if things turn south. Sleeping in a bed is the only way to get a full rest, and sleeping is the only way to save without mods. You can use a sleeping bag to rest and save, but these only stave off fatigue for so long. There is no fast travel in Survival Mode, so having a safe place to rest is vital. Chose your destination and plan rest stops along the way to recover or replenish your items. Healing isn't instantaneous, broken limbs can only be healed with Stimpaks and you'll probably come across stronger enemies more often. Enemies in Survival Mode are much more dangerous, and there is no quick save. Like in New Vegas, everything has weight and with your carry weight reduced, be selective in what you bring.ĭon't just run off once you've prepared for your journey: plan your destination and the route you'll take. There is also a new healing item, Antibiotics, that you can find or make to cure illness. You'll need healing items too, but know they can cause you to become thirsty faster. Bring food, water and a sleeping bag (if you can spare the weight) along with weapons. There are different stages to each, and they'll affect your stats and AP the more your situation deteriorates. Famine, dehydration and exhaustion can cost you in the field, so make sure you have the right items in your pockets. Enemies are much harder and aren't the only thing you'll be worrying about.
